Vada Pav

Vada pav – Indian version of burger, must be one of the most loved street foods. It is one of the tastiest fast food of Maharastra and also a famous "Chaat" in Mumbai city .In fact in the city the day starts with a couple of Vada Pavs and a cutting Chai or tea. Vada is a spicy potato mixture with a coating of gram flour, deep fried in oil. Pav is a special kind of soft bread, almost square in shape. We are great fans of this absolutely yummy dish .

The chutneys for this are very easy to make. I made all the three chutneys even though the green chutney and the red garlic chutney are the most frequently used ones. Sweet chutney is not always a part of it. But I like to have mine with it in place of tomato ketchup.

Method-

1-I make Vada for "vada pav" just as aloo bonda .so just follow the recipe of aloo bonda to make vada .(smaller size)

2-Slit the pav in the middle and heat it on tawa with a little bit of oil.(just warm it little bit) and put a spoonful of each chutney on it.Place a Vada on bun (pav) and fold over, pressing down gently, serve while the vada is hot ...............yummy....

one of my favorite mumbai street food. While coming back from office on half way (when I had to switch from bus to local train), I used to love these vada pavs in a small corner shop near Vikhroli station :)
